ABOUT THIS PROJECT

A Considered Home in Box Hill

In Box Hill, Senka Homes built this home around a single idea: restraint. The palette is pared right back, crisp white cabinetry, white marble-look stone and soft white walls, warmed throughout by wide-plank natural oak floors. Nothing here is loud. The craftsmanship is the luxury.

The arrival is the one moment of drama. A wall of black timber battens meets pale troweled render and a tall charcoal pivot door, then opens to a calm, light-filled interior. At its centre is the kitchen, where a waterfall island in veined marble-look stone is finished with a fluted front and a single warm oak display niche, the one timber note against all that white. A full-height stone splashback runs unbroken behind handleless cabinetry, while a walk-through butler’s pantry keeps the everyday out of sight.

The bathrooms hold the same discipline. Floor-to-ceiling stone-look tiling, freestanding baths, twin vanities and brushed nickel tapware are detailed with quiet precision, down to the white sliding door on its black track. It is a home that shows how much can be said with very little, made to a standard you feel rather than see.

"The stone benchtops and hybrid flooring made our home feel so much more premium. We couldn't believe it was included at no extra cost - it's what sealed the deal for us."
