In Tarneit, Senka Homes built this home around a bold, confident palette: black joinery, white stone and warm oak floors. It is high-contrast and contemporary, yet the timber underfoot keeps it warm and liveable rather than stark.

The kitchen makes the case. Black vertical-grooved cabinetry wraps a waterfall island topped in white marble-look stone, with a full-height stone splashback lit softly from beneath the overheads. Brushed nickel tapware and wide oak floors temper the drama, while a walk-through butler’s pantry keeps the working side of the kitchen out of view.

The bathrooms soften the mood. Warm greige stone-look tiling, floating vanities with concealed under-lighting, oval basins and oval mirrors are finished with the same brushed nickel, including a twin-vanity ensuite built for two.
